ink and wash
Linda
A cool, quiet page, like a grandmother's sketchbook of ink and watercolor. The day is written over a round wash of cerulean, the title's rule is a pen line drawn twice, a tick is a pen loop, and a voice note plays from a dab of wash. Nothing on it is a ruled line, and nothing on it is loud. What you keep comes back as small sketches: a cat at the window, birds on a wire, tea and a letter, and your photos stay whole.

Linda, dark
The same sketchbook at night, in Payne's grey with a little cerulean in it, for writing after the house is asleep: pale words, and the washes in deeper pans. The same pen lines, and the same wall in Commonplace.

A page like a sketchbook.
(one page, in the app.)
A page in Linda, drawn by the Haumm app with a made-up journal, and what makes it Linda.
- 1
The day, washed in
The day written over a round wash of cerulean, a little ochre beside it and a few drops flicked off: the weekday above, the month and year under. The title's rule is a pen line drawn twice, with a dot of wash where it starts.
- 2
Lists on soft washes
Each list sits on a soft patch of its own color, with no outline: tasks in cerulean, habits in sap green, gratitude in ochre, each marked by a dab of the same.
- 3
A pen loop for a tick
A tick is a pen loop that overshoots where it closes. Done, it's a dab of sap green with the tick inked over it.
- 4
A pen line for a voice note
A voice note plays from a round cerulean wash with its sign drawn in pen, and its own levels are one pen line that swings with them, a wash under what's been played.

What you keep, sketched.
(one wall for both.)
Keep a line, a list, a photo or a voice note and it comes back as one of twenty-four small sketches in ink and wash, in cerulean, sap green or ochre: a small figure under a big sky, a tree on a headland, a cat at the window, birds on the wire, a chair by the window, a kitchen shelf, a washing line, tea and a letter. A voice note's own levels become a kite's string, the edge of a shore or the sea under a wall, turning a warm sienna as it plays. Photos stay whole and as big as they can be, the washes only in the space beside them. Re-roll for another. With Posters off, each piece is a loose leaf from the sketchbook.
