letters from a garden
Josephine
For pages that read like letters from a garden. Cream paper and burgundy ink, a painted rose stem beside a title set in spaced capitals, and the day's lists in painted blossoms that bloom when you tick them. What you keep comes back in forest, poppy, mustard and cobalt: garlands, botanical plates, Art Nouveau frames, lined envelopes and photos bound in cloth.
In the app: Settings → Preferences → Appearance → Josephine. On a computer, the look's name at the top of the journal opens the same list. It follows your account to every device.

A letter from the garden.
(one page, in the app.)
A page in Josephine, drawn by the Haumm app with a made-up journal, and what makes it Josephine.
- 1
A botanical plate
A painted rose stem beside your title, and over it the plate's number and the date: No. 297, the day of the year, then Saturday 24 October.
- 2
Spaced capitals
The title set upright in spaced capitals over a double rule, on the phone too.
- 3
Painted blossoms
Each list opens with a small blush blossom. Ticked tasks bloom into poppies, each habit's row blooms in its own color, and gratitude is numbered in blossoms.
- 4
A flower bed
The seal to play over a bed of painted flowers: the note's own levels, each flower as tall as its moment was loud.

What you keep, in a garden.
(garlands, plates, letters.)
Keep a line, a photo or a voice note and it comes back as a garland, a botanical plate, an Art Nouveau frame, a lined envelope, a photo bound in cloth or a bed of painted flowers, in forest, poppy, mustard, cobalt and sage, with the old album cards mixed in. Re-roll for another.

Not just the page.
(every room, in Josephine.)

Paper
Cream paper on a dusty-blush desk, burgundy ink, deep rose and olive. On the Commonplace wall, more color: forest, poppy, mustard, cobalt, a museum blue, sage, pink and butter.
Type
Cormorant Garamond for titles, upright in spaced capitals on the page and in italic in the rooms; Cormorant small capitals for labels, Alegreya for your writing, Parisienne, Federo and Sacramento on keepsakes.
