a travel journal
Christopher
For the journal you carry from place to place. Every page is postmarked with its place, lists ride on ticket stubs, and a voice note is a ticket you punch to play. In the rooms, the places from your own pages come back as postcards, boarding passes and a route.
Free while Haumm is in early access. After that, every journal has White and Night, joining the paid plan adds three looks you choose, and more are a few dollars each, yours to keep, even on the free plan. You can try any look on your own pages first.
Open Haumm →In the app: Settings → Preferences → Appearance → Christopher, then Light, Dark or Match my device, which turns with your phone or computer. On a computer, the look's name at the top of the journal opens the same choices. It follows your account to every device.

Christopher, dark
Christopher on a night train: brown-black paper, cream words, ticket blue lifted pale, postal red and stub yellow. The same postmark round the date and tickets for lists, and the same wall in Commonplace.

Every page, postmarked.
(one page, in the app.)
A page in Christopher, drawn by the Haumm app with a made-up journal, and what makes it Christopher.
- 1
The postmark
The date is a cancellation mark in postal red, the page's own place around the ring and its waves running along the place line.
- 2
Lists as tickets
Each block wears a small postmark and rides on a ticket's yellow stub.
- 3
Postcard photos
A white border, a soft shadow and the day it was taken in capitals.
- 4
A voice ticket
Punch the hole to play. The barcode is the note's own wave.

What you keep, by post.
(postcards, tickets, stamps.)
Keep a line, a photo or a voice note and Commonplace hangs it as a postcard, an airmail envelope, a ticket, a boarding pass with the places from your pages, a route card or a big perforated stamp. Re-roll for another.

Not just the page.
(every room, in Christopher.)
This is the app itself, with a made-up journal. Click through the page, Commonplace and Bookmarks, light or dark, and flip the writing between serif and sans.
Paper
Cream paper on a kraft desk under a faint old map, ticket navy, postal red and stub yellow. Dark: brown-black paper on a darker desk, cream ink, a pale ticket blue, postal red and stub yellow.
Type
DM Serif Display titles, Newsreader for your writing, IBM Plex Mono labels and condensed stamp capitals.
In the rooms
Rooms sit on the kraft desk under the map. Bookmarks are tickets, grouped by month; Insights draws your places as a route.
