legal — early access
Terms of Service
Last revised October 2, 2026
Haumm is in early access. These terms are the agreement between you and Haumm ("we," "us") for the app, the website at haumm.com, and anything connected to them. By creating an account or using Haumm, you agree to them. A fuller version will replace these before launch.
The short version
- Your writing is yours. We don't own it, sell it, or use it to train AI.
- Haumm is still being built. Things may change or break, so export your journal now and then.
- Use it honestly. Don't break the law or try to break Haumm.
- You can leave any time, and take your writing with you.
Who can use Haumm
You need to be at least 13, and old enough where you live to agree to these terms. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian should agree to them with you.
Your account
Keep your sign-in details safe; you're responsible for what happens on your account. One account per person, please, and use your real email address so we can reach you. If you think someone else got into your account, email us right away.
Your writing
Everything you put in Haumm (entries, photos, voice notes, Commonplace, and the rest) belongs to you. To run the service, you give us permission to store, copy, and display your content back to you, transcribe your voice notes, and process it in the ways needed to make Haumm work. That permission is only for running Haumm for you, and it ends when you delete the content or your account. Your journal is private by default and we never make it public.
Only put things in Haumm you have the right to use. You can export your writing as Word, PDF, or text at any time. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
Connected services
You can connect other services to Haumm, like Google sign-in, Google Drive import, or an AI app such as Claude. Connected AI apps can read your journal but can never change it. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and we're not responsible for what they do with information you choose to share with them. You can disconnect them at any time.
Using Haumm well
Please don't:
- Use Haumm for anything illegal, or to store content that exploits children;
- Try to get into other people's accounts or data, or test, probe, or attack Haumm's systems;
- Overload Haumm, scrape it, or get around plan limits;
- Copy, resell, or reverse engineer Haumm, or use it to build a competing product; or
- Pretend to be someone else.
We don't read your journal looking for problems. But if we learn an account is being used to break these rules, we may suspend or close it.
Plans and pricing
Haumm is free during early access. After early access, every account can write its first 60 entries for free (imported entries don't count), and continuing after that is $30/year. Storage for photos, voice notes, and video is generous but limited; current limits are shown in the app. Early access testers keep $20/year for as long as their subscription stays active.
Paid plans will be managed inside the app, renew yearly until you cancel, and can be cancelled any time. We'll tell you before charging you for the first time and before any price change. If your subscription ends, you can still read and export everything you've written.
Early access means things change
Haumm is being shaped daily. Features may change, move, or go away, and there may be bugs or downtime. We work hard to keep your writing safe, but please export a copy now and then. If a change significantly affects you or your data, we'll tell you before it happens.
Ending things
You can delete your account any time in Settings → Privacy, which permanently removes your journal. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms; when we can, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to export your writing. If we ever shut Haumm down, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice to export everything.
The legal part
- No guarantees. Haumm is provided "as is" during early access, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.
- Limits on liability. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost data. Our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50 if you haven't paid anything.
- Feedback. If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them to improve Haumm without owing you anything.
- Changes to these terms. We'll post updates here with a new date, and tell you about important ones by email or in the app. If you keep using Haumm after a change, the new terms apply.
- Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA. Some places give you rights these terms can't take away; those still apply.
